VIA World Trade Centre Forum organized a panel discussion on the topic ‘Opportunities for SME’s in Export Market’ at VIA. Renowned panelists namely Mr. Anil Velde, Mr Gaurav Sarda, Mr. Abhishek Jha and Mr. Rajib Bhowal were there for the panel discussion.
Mr. Anil Velde, Jt Director of World Trade Centre, Mumbai said that there are abundant opportunities for small and medium enterprises. He also threw light on the various organizations like WTC, Export Promotion councils for particular products, Indian embassies, Consulates etc which can be contacted for their cooperation and support for exporting one’s product. He further added that one should be aware of Free Trade Agreements that we have with various countries as this knowledge will be of great help for strategic planning regarding exports. He also quoted example of I-phone, as in the designing, manufacturing of parts to assembly and selling takes place in various countries.
Mr. Gaurav Sarda, Managing Director, Simplex Chemopack Pvt. Ltd & Chairman-VIA EXIM Forum shared his journey of worked towards moving his company from being 100% domestic in 2006 to 80% exports now and growing each year. He also recommended the audience to directly approach export promotion offices as they are highly supportive. Dealing with exports for his company, he was able to throw light on the hurdles that one faces while exporting and suggested the solutions that he implemented to overcome the barriers.
Mr. Rajib Bhowal, Chief Manager, CONCOR, Nagpur informed about the importance of logistics in exports. He said that one should decide whether one wants to save a little money and compromise on service or is service one’s priority. Having said that he also informed that soon direct trains are going to start for neighboring nations like Bangladesh etc which shall definitely help the export business.
Mr. Abhishek Jha, Director (Operations and Marketing), Glocal Logistics Pvt Ltd, Nagpur said that there are lot of opportunities for small and medium enterprises in exports market. He recommended that one should make use of the various schemes offered by the Government.
At the outset, Ms. Shikha Khare, Coordinator, VIA World Trade Centre Forum gave the opening remarks and highlighted the topic for panel discussion. Dr. Suhas Buddhe, Hon. Secretary, VIA in his welcome address said prospective exporters will get opportunity to explore export market. VIA had signed an MoU with WTC and we request WTC representative to have frequently visit to VIA in a month or two. The panelists were welcomed with floral bouquets by Mrs. Anita Rao, Coordinator, WTC Forum and Dr. Suhas Buddhe. The panel discussion was moderated and proposed a formal vote of thanks by Ms. Shikha Khare, Coordinator, VIA WTC Forum. This program received an overwhelming response and was attended by Exporters, Professionals, students, businessman, retailers, Industrialists in large numbers.
