“Analysis of Tax proposal” in Union Budget-2016

VIA Taxation and Corporate Law Forum is organizing a meet on “Analysis of Tax Proposal in Union Budget-2016” to be conducted by Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan on Thursday, 3rd March 2016 at VIA Hall, Udyog Bhawan from 10.00 a.m. to 1.30 pm.
Prominent speaker on Indirect Taxes, Mr. Badri Narayanan, Partner of Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, will address industrialists on the contents of Indirect Tax proposal & its impact on the industries and individuals. An expet in Indirect Tax, Mr. Badri Narayan has handled several projects for technology companies entering, collaborating and operating in India. He has advised the companies on structuring investments into India, on availing tax benefits and on complying with the regulatory scheme in India and on issues relating to intellectual property and enforcement.
He has expertise in technology transfer agreements and has drafted and negotiated intellectual property licensing and cross-licensing arrangements. In the area of software, he has handled a variety of issues including protection of software in India, shrink-wrap and click-wrap contracts, introduction of new licensing models for distribution of software, open source software, taxability of software in India and transfer pricing and customs valuation studies. He speaks on Service Tax and GST in various industry associations and chambers.
Another renowned speaker on Direct Taxes, Mr Amar Gahlot, Principal Associate, Direct Tax Practice, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Mumbai will speak on Direct Taxes. Prior to joining L&S, he has worked as an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Officer with the Income Department as Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax.
The meet is aimed to cover all the tax proposals related to Customs, Excise, Service Tax and Income Tax in the Union Budget 2016.
