Dr. Ashutosh Paturkar believes – communication is the best thing to happen to mankind. He explained the Marketing Perspective of Communication which includes Advertising, Sales promotion, Public relations, Events & Experiences, Direct and interactive marketing, Word of mouth, Personal selling.

He said the marketing communication should be customer driven. The customer wants clear brand promise and offerings they value.

Today consumers take a much more iterative and less reductive decision of four stages – Consider, Evaluate, Buy & Engage/Advocate/Bond. He had thrown light on CDP driven Strategy which has 3 parts – 1. Understanding your consumer’s decision process, 2. Determining which touch points are priorities and how to leverage them and 3. Allocating resources accordingly.

While explaining the importance of reviews in decision making process of today’s consumer he said – You may win consideration  for a brand, but if the product gets weak reviews – or worse or is not even discussed online – its unlikely to survive the winnowing process.  He very aptly covered the vast topic.
