Interactive session on Business Opportunities / Collaboration in Germany (The State of Baden-Württemberg)

Ms Iris Becker interacted with members regarding “Business Opportunities / Collaborations  in Germany”  (The State of Baden-Württemberg)”

Vidarbha Industries Association organized an Interactive Session on “Business Opportunities / Collaborations  in Germany” (The State of Baden-Württemberg)” on 1st March, 2017 at VIA Hall, Nagpur.

The State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) Representatives Visit Nagpur to discuss collaborations with Vidarbha based SMEs.

Ms. Iris Becker & Mr. Ashish Pandit from Let’s bridge IT, who officially represent The State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) in Maharashtra visited Nagpur and addressed a workshop hosted for industrial fraternity of this region by VIA in Nagpur. Mr  Suresh Rathi, Vice President of VIA, worked closely with Irish Becker & Mr  Ashish Pandit to organize this meeting.

Ms. Becker said the plan is to bring together the SME segments in The State of Baden-Württemberg and Vidarbha Region to identify interest, opportunities, forge collaborations, partnerships, alliances, new manufacturing facilities, joint investment ventures etc. They also addressed the academicians of key institutes in the region and visited VNIT as there is a big potential of research collaborations between the two regions.

There is an existing MoU between the State of Maharashtra (India) and The State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) signed in January 2015 establishing a Sister-State relationship. The MoU focuses on mutually beneficial areas of cooperation in the Economic Development, Information Technology in Research, Skill Development, Tourism, Urban Infrastructure, Education and Culture.

Let’s bridge IT officially represents The State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) in Maharashtra with the following broad objective are Establish presence in Maharashtra State to forge relationship with Industry bodies, Government, Industry and Academia, Identify areas & clusters of collaboration between the SME segments of Baden-Württemberg and Maharashtra, Plan & Execute Delegation visits from both the states in order to bring together the like-minded companies, Work with the industries on both sides to provide market access.

She also informed about the State of Baden Württemberg is the 3rd largest and amongst the most industrialized states in Germany. With a population of about 11 million and GDP of 460 Billion Euros, it contributes to over 15% of the German GDP. The exports from the state amounts to over 195 Billion Euros making it the top export state in Germany. The state has major industries in the segment of Auto & Auto Ancillary, Mobility, Precision Engineering, Aerospace, Plastics & Plastics processing, Recycling, Packaging, Logistics etc. The future technologies include those like Nano Technology, Industry 4.0, Lightweight technologies etc.

She said the State is home to the noteworthy industries are Audi, Bosch, Daimler/Mercedes, Porsche, EvoBus, ZF etc.

She said academically, the State is home to over 50 Universities & Colleges of academic repute across Engineering, Applied Sciences, Performing Arts, Music to name a few. In addition, there are 12 Max Planck Institutes, 3 Helmholtz Research Centers, 7 Leibniz Institutes, 17 Fraunhofer Facilities, 7 German Aerospace Centers and 13 institutes of Innovation Alliance. The key cities in this state are Stuttgart (Capital), Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Freiburg, Heidelberg, Heilbronn, Ulm, Pforzheim, Reutlingen. Black Forest Region, a great tourist attraction in Europe, is part of the state.

Earlier, Mr Suresh Rathi, Vice President – VIA gave a welcome address and said those who want to set up a new business in Vidarbha or want to collaborate in existing business with companies at Germany, The State of Baden-Wrttemberg is a good opportunity for them. He also introduced the guest speakers. Mr Praful Doshi, Immd Past President – VIA welcomed Iris Becker and Mr Suresh Rathi welcomed Ashish Pandit with floral bouquets. Dr Suhas Buddhe, Hon. Secretary – VIA made presentation on “All about Vidarbha Region” as well as shown short video clipping on Opportunities available in Vidarbha Region and also conducted the proceedings and also proposed a vote of thanks.
