VIA in association with Securities Exchange Board of India and National Stock Exchange organized a program on SME Funding : Role of Capital Markets. Nagpur Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries and Cost Accountant also supported the event. Vidarbha due to its logistic advantage is attracting major investment in pharma, steel, IT, renewable energy, textile, engineering, agro and food processing, health care etc. This region is also on the focus of the Govt of India and Govt of Maharashtra for speedy development.
SEBI has created SME platform for the growth of SME sector and more than 100 SME companies taped the capital market including few companies from Nagpur. The program of SME Funding and the Role of Capital Markets give an opportunity to the local entrepreneurs to think of alternative funding from capital market. This also encourages private equity as this platform offer easy and cheap exist route. The programme covered the government perspective, the regulatory perspective and the exchange perspective in the event.
