“Seminar on Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme” held
Nagpur. March 17. Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises [MSME], has been taking great efforts to enable Small and Medium Enterprises [SMEs] to compete and strengthening their position in the market. Due to cut throat competition the SMEs need to reduce their wastages and increase their margin of profits, said Mr P Sridhar Executive Officer Quality Council of India.
Mr P Sridhar was delivering a talk at a “Seminar on Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme”, organized by Vidarbha industries Association in association with MSME, QCI and TUV-SUD this evening at VIA Hall.
Mr Sridhar said that objective of Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness is to enhance manufacturing competitiveness of the units through the application of various Lean manufacturing techniques resulting in waste reduction, increased productivity and introduction of innovative practices as well as imbibing culture of continuous improvement. Further, there is need for bringing in newer approaches to improve productivity & higher efficiencies of various manufacturing units through Lean Management and Industrial Engineering techniques. The “Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme” being offered by Quality council of India could be very useful to MSMEs in this context as it offers considerable support to get best consultant to advice and handhold the units.
Mr Sunil Khedkar, Consultant TUV SUD South Asia Pvt. Ltd spoke on the benefits of the scheme, while Mr D R Johari Assistant Director MSME gave details of the various schemes of MSME for the benefit of SMEs.
Earlier, Mr Prashant Mohota Vice President -VIA, delivered the welcome address, and called upon the entrepreneurs to take full advantage of the scheme offered by MSMEs. Ms Priya Iyer, General Manager Business Development Academy TUV SUD introduced the speakers and Mr Pratik Tapadia EC member and programme coordinator proposed a vote of thanks.
