Marketing forum of Vidarbha Industries Association had organized a panel discussion on the topic ‘Is branding and marketing necessary for service Professionals’. Renowned panelists from the city, namely, Dr. Rita Agrawal, Dr. Shivani Bidaye, Adv. Shailendra Harode, Ms. Prarthna Nangia and CA Naresh Jakotia were there for the panel discussion.
Dr. Rita Agrawal, Consulting Psychologist, said that in her case, being a pioneer in her field, she had to first create an awareness regarding the difference that exists between Psychiatrist and Psychology. She said that branded the science of psychology and that helped her to eventually create her brand. She further said that by writing articles in newspaper and delivering sessions in various colleges helped her a lot in creating awareness about the problems that can solved with the help of Psychologist.
Prarthna Nangia, renowned Interior Designer said that service professionals should not sell; they should resort to sharing about themselves and their services. She also that in today’s digital era, social media helps a lot in staying connected with your clients and target audience. She said that it takes a lot of years to create your brand and one cannot think about creating a brand in one day. She also went on to classify brand as visual branding and Brand experience.
CA Naresh Jakotia said that he does not belief in use of traditional ways of marketing for service professionals. He believes in writing articles and solving problems of clients by providing good service is the key to build and maintain your brand. He also mentioned that the professionals should be in position to inform clients about their area of expertise, this shall not only help the clients in receiving good quality service but also help in creating good reputation for the service provider.
Dr. Shivani Bidaye, Ophthalmologist stressed that for service professionals it is necessary to be expert in their field and to provide quality service to their clients. She further added that if you are good at your job, you can survive and also build your brand. She said that service professionals can brand themselves by creating awareness and educating their clients. Content can be provided either through traditional medium like leaflets or through social media.
Adv. Shailendra Harode said that area of expertise or specialization should be conveyed to clients as this will help the clients in receiving the right service from right person and shall decrease the suffering of the clients .Society at large shall be benefited if it is permitted to mention your area of expertise. He suggested that working in groups or teams as Associates helps clients to get service from the expert.
At the outset, Mrs. Shilpa Agrawal, Chairperson, VIA Marketing forum gave the opening remarks and highlighted the topic for panel discussion.
