Innovative way to raise the saplings of vegetables and cotton etc.

VIA Agro & Rural development Forum organized a workshop on “Innovative way to raise saplings of vegetables and cotton etc”at VIA Hall recently.
The workshop attended by large number of progressive farmers and business men was highly informative and beneficial to the famers.
Milind Shende, Project Director, Agricultural Technology Management Agency, explained the role of ATMA and the various schemes for the benefit of farmers.
Subodh Moharir, Agriculture Development Officer, Zilla Parishad, Nagpur and Priyanka Agriculture office Z.P. were also present.
In a power point presentation Anand Jajodia explained how farmers specially having especially farmers having polyhouses, net houses, tunnel houses were present in large numbers can benefit by following this innovative way of raising saplings.
He said that normally it is believed that saplings of only chilli, tomato, brinjal and a few vegetables are grown by the farmers. But now the scientists have developed an innovative, economical and easy way to raise the saplings of major field crops like cotton, sugarcane, turmeric, papaya, cuburbits – ridgegourd, bottlegourd, bittergourd etc. which can be transplanted to the field at appropriate time resulting in better quality and higher quantity of crop. Even of Saplings of teakwood, neem, karanj, etc. and saplings of various medicinal plants can also be raised for transplanting. This system can change the face of present agricultural scenario. With the help of this technique one can grow better quality saplings at a lower price at your residence or farmhouse in off season.
Benefits arising would be Better yield to plants due to better health, while transferring to soil, the plant suffers very less shock, Less space is required due to uniform plant population and losses to plants are minimum, Due to good health and more number of plants the quality of plants is better and yield is higher, Sowing seeds in trays before time, you can get higher benefits and saves time, without increasing your costing the yield of cotton crop can be increased by 15 to 20 percent, there will be substantial reduction in the cost of planting material and higher yield and better quality produce. for the crops like sugarcane, turmeric, ginger, etc. and lastly This technology can generate full time employment for thousands of rural youth in their own village.
